Pungro observes ‘first-ever’ consumer rights awareness campaign

Pungro, March 17 (MExN): The ‘first-ever’ awareness campaign on consumer rights and duties was held in Pungro Town on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day on March 15.

The Saramati Nexus Club (SNC) Pungro in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kiphire conducted the campaign under the theme, ‘The Sustainable Consumer.’

A SNC release informed that during the event, guest speaker Sonal, LLB enlightened the gathering on the rights and duties of a consumer.

Aligned with the theme, he also spoke on the importance of the use of hand made products; to do away with plastic products by carrying hand bags while shopping, it said.

Sonal further urged the gathering to use the resources judiciously and sustainably so as to preserve and conserve it for the coming generations, stated the release issued by the SNC General Secretary, Adilen Kipzz.

Stating that each and every one a consumer in one and myriad ways, Sonal also stressed that a customer must stick in getting their rights and should not shy away from lodging a complaint when deprived.

The speaker elaborated on Right to choose, right to file a complaint and right to access quality products, the release added.
The programme was chaired by the SNC Convener L Samuel and was attended by the citizens of Pungro and members of Chambers of Commerce (CoC) Pungro Town.

World Vaccination Day 2021
Meanwhile, the SNC in collaboration with NYK, Kiphire and GHSS Pungro observed the World Vaccination Day 2021 at Govt, Higher Secondary School Pungro on March 16 with Dr Hyunilo Tep, M.O, CHC Pungro as the Guest Speaker.

On the occasion, Dr Tep spoke on the necessity vaccination and stressed on the need for the old and the young to be vaccinated at all cost, another SNC release informed.

He also gave examples of the successful vaccines that have been administered in eradicating deadly diseases like small pox, chicken pox and so forth, it said.

Dr Tep also advised the students to pass the message to their parents and elders, to not shy away from being vaccinated and stay away from fraud information and not to spread unnecessary rumors on any of the vaccines, it added.

The programme was chaired by David Deshilen, Former President, SNC and was attended by all the club members, other youth clubs registered under NYK Kiphire, staff and the students of GHSS Pungro.
